Boscawen-un Stone Circle
Boscawenoon is the site of the impressively complete Boscawen-un Stone Circle which is set in a beautiful location near the village of St Buryan, west of Penzance.
It is a very important site, both historically and also spiritually to many members of the local community, and is still used at certain times of the year to conduct celebrations such as at mid summer and mid winter.
Work was carried out by PAROW in the autumn of 2005 and the early spring of 2006 on this very sensitive site to clear areas of overgrown vegetation which had developed inside the enclosure which surrounds the stones. Large amounts of gorse and bracken were removed buy hand from the site, and the remaining areas regularly cut to encourage the recovery of grass and wild flowers. This spring saw the enclosure and the stones carpeted in a sea of blue bells and campions, adding to the locations beauty and peace.
PAROW has also carried out considerable work to the two access paths which enable visitors to get to the stones, improving their surface and appearance throughout the year.

Visiting Boscawen-un Stone Circle
The most convenient way to access the stones at Boscawenoon is to park in a small lay by alongside the A30, approximately 1.5 miles past the St Buryan turn off heading west. It is possible to park several cars alongside the road with care, and then to follow a wooden sign through a small gate. Continue ahead down hill along an obvious grass path for approximately 5 minutes to reach the stones which are surrounded by Blackthorn bushes. It is possible to enter the enclosure either through a gate or over a stile.
